“LETS TALK DECORATING”
PREPERATION IS KING
Lets start at the beginning and with preparation because preparation is KEY! If the prep work is no good then your finish is gonna be lousy and ain’t nobody wants to be paying good money for a lousy finish!. So what should you expect? Firstly any flakey or loose paint should be removed and filled where needed, this includes any bad dents or damage that the walls may have had. Next the damage should be filled with the appropriate filler (there are many fillers for many different things). All woodwork should be rubbed and any cracks filled with flexible filler to make sure they don’t open up again any time soon. So once any damage has been repaired and filled and free from dust we can move onto paining!
Painting is something that everyone seems to think is a piece of cake but the reality is that all the best preparation in the world won’t cover a bad paint job! So how do you know a good job? simples, the cutting in should be crisp and neat and the roller finish on the wall should not be in 3D! The amount of times I have seen people just load up a roller and leave a mass of paint on the wall and let it dry leaving a horrid finish. Any roller finish should be flush and neat. The other thing that really helps is using not only good quality paints (Dulux) but also the paint brushes and rollers! A £1-£3 paint brush just aint gonna cut the mustard!
With over 23 years experience and being the third generation decorator in my family you can be confident of a professional finish to the highest of standards. And lets start at the beginning and with preparation because preparation is KEY! If the prep work is no good then your finish is gonna be lousy and ain’t nobody wants to be paying good money for a lousy finish. So if its a simple room redecorate then everything gets a good rub down and prep ready for its first coat. All woodwork is UNDERCOATED because with out undercoat (depending on the finish you choose) then the top coat will have nothing to cling onto so there is no skipping this part either! To be honest the painting is kind of the easier bit as its the prep where you really get the good finish your looking for- So filling all cracks and gaps with the most appropriate type of filler as there is a different filler depending on the gap or hole. After this all and the time I put the final coat on and do a though clean up your room will have a new lease of life and you will have a new room to call your own

WHO I AM
I am ‘The Decorator’ but you can call me Steve. As I may have mentioned once or twice (well its quite impressive) I’ve been at this for 23 years now and I first started getting trained by my old man at 16 straight out of school. It was kind of a no brainer as my grandad trained my dad so I’m now the third generation of painter in my family! Im married to my gorgeous wife Steph who is the owner of ‘Summers Photography’ and we have a cocker spaniel called Thor (yes I named him lol). And when I’m not painting or shooting weddings with my wife I enjoy a good Marvel film and a few cold beers!
